A complex of mills by the side of the Rochdale canal consisting of Old Mill (1797), Decker Mill (1802), New Mill (1804), Little Mill (1822), Doubling Mill (1842) and Fireproof Mill (1842). The main complex formed a quadrangle surrounding a private canal basin linked under the road to the Rochdale Canal, which opened in 1804.
