Type of Mill: Cotton Spinning

Part of a UNESCO World Heritage site. Originally built in 1785, but destroyed by fire on 9th October, 1788. Rebuilt in 1789. The top 2 storeys of the mill were removed in 1945. The mill was restored by the New Lanark Trust as the New Lanark Mill Hotel that was opened in 1998.
